MirShine Launches Ammonia-Based Desulfurization Project for Xinjiang Huineng Coal Efficient Utilization Facility

MirShine Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. has officially commenced construction of its ammonia-based desulfurization project for four coal-fired fluidized bed hot-air furnaces at Xinjiang Huineng Coal Clean and Efficient Utilization Co., Ltd. This project serves as a critical environmental protection component of Xinjiang Huineng’s annual 15 million-ton coal processing facility. Not only does it fill a regional gap in large-scale coal-fired desulfurization technology, but it also marks a significant step forward in the clean, efficient, and high-value transformation of energy development in western China.

The project site is located in a remote desert area, presenting a challenging construction environment. Beyond these natural difficulties, the project faces stringent quality control requirements set by Xinjiang Huineng. From material approval to construction processes and final acceptance, multiple checkpoints are implemented to ensure meticulous oversight, with rigid milestone enforcement. This level of scrutiny demands exceptional technical capabilities, management resilience, and a strong sense of responsibility from the contractor.

MirShine has risen to the challenge by leveraging its extensive experience in industrial flue gas treatment, particularly ammonia-based desulfurization technology. The project adopts MirShine’s internationally advanced ammonia-based desulfurization process, customized to the operational conditions of the four fluidized bed hot-air furnaces. Two units are designed to handle flue gas volumes of up to 690,000 Nm³/h, while the remaining two process 550,000 Nm³/h. Each furnace is paired with an independent desulfurization unit, ensuring that emissions consistently meet or exceed China’s strictest environmental standards.

This confidence is supported by MirShine’s “Hundred-Day Project” methodology and its rigorous “100% = 1, 99% = 0” quality philosophy. Every step is executed with precision, leaving no room for compromise. This approach has allowed MirShine to previously achieve the industry record of completing dual-tower construction in just 77 days. The current project team is fully assembled and ready to begin simultaneous construction of all four towers, aiming to complete the work within the intensive hundred-day period, establishing a new benchmark for quality in western China.

Innovatively, the four desulfurization units are integrated with a single ammonium sulfate post-treatment system. This configuration not only ensures high-efficiency flue gas desulfurization but also converts byproducts into high-purity ammonium sulfate, achieving a true “pollution-to-resource” model. This dual benefit strengthens the environmental and economic value of the project, promoting a sustainable industrial cycle.

As the project investor, Xinjiang Huineng’s strategy aligns closely with Hami City’s energy development objectives. Hami City is focused on the protective development and high-value utilization of oil-rich coal, promoting the transformation of the coal industry from traditional “fuel” to “raw material and industrial material.” The annual 15 million-ton coal clean and efficient utilization project is recognized by the National Energy Administration as a key demonstration project for coal deep-processing.

With China’s ongoing energy transition, clean energy development in the western regions is an inevitable trend.
